SoRDeC’s mission is to contribute towards strengthening a process that enhances sustainable rural community development in Nepal. It aims to accomplish this through promotion of local initiatives, use of appropriate technology, strengthening of the Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), and other local institutions at the grassroots level.  The overriding concern and focus of SoRDeC is to tap the locally available resources (human and natural) and gear these towards sustainable rural community development.
